Our Favorite finds at the NYIGF trade show!

This week, the G-Team had a rather fun time browsing the vendors at the New York International Gift Fair, a trade show where furniture, house goods, and other product-vendors come from all over the world to display in the HUGE Javits center.  We spent hours walking through, talking to merchants, looking for hot new finds, and sipping some nespresso (yes! Free samples at their booth!).  We’ll post some of our favorite finds from the show here.  Some of the big trends this year seem to be a lot of natural elements: from plant- and animal- inspired motifs and shapes, natural fibers, furs, and skins, and metal- and ceramic- casting.

ceramic animal busts at Tozai-more humane and affordable, and still elegant!
Skeleton Chair at Michael Aram- believe it or not, it's quite comfortable!Coral is quite a trend- here is a gorgeous example at Michael Aram

On the other end of the trend spectrum: popsicle colors in acrylic at Alexandra Von Furstenberg

For those NYers who miss a fireplace, but live in an apartment...Porcelain Logs at KleinReid

so many vibrant patterns and quality materials at Waylande Gregory ceramics and glass

Although famed for his acrylic trays, John Derian makes some excellent furniture, too: like this kissing chair!

A cache of cute ceramics at Cacharel!

Some neat wooden iphone covers, wooden toys, and waterproof paper goods at Color Japan!

At Cavern Home, fun wallpapers you can draw on (maybe for a guest bathroom?)! I love their whole collection!

amazing "lasso" glass lighting at Sklo!

Fun and Funky at Area Ware! They also have wireless light switches, and clever decor objets

Part of the back-to-nature trend at Stray DogCool crystal accessories: we are hoping to collaborate with this company to make some doorknobs!
